Hometown Hero: Jon Hannan

Carolyn Hannan sent this information about her husband:
"His current duty assignment is in SHAPE, Belgium. His military career began over 16 years ago, first in the Virginia National Gurard (right out of H.S.), and now in the regular Army. He is language-qualified in four foreign languages and has been to the Middle East several times. Next up he's expecting a four-month tour and a six-month tour which I am dreading already. As if being without him is bad enough already, it's even worse being in a foreign country where the American community is quite small compared to bases in Germany, the UK, or Japan. He is such a big help around the house, with the children, and most importantly, he's a great listener.

So as a little therapy, everytime he is gone, I like to have a candle burning to symbolize his everlasting presence in our home.
